Rep. Adam Schiff (Calif.), the top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, said the committee has much more information about the ongoing investigations into Russian meddling in the 2016 presidential election than what has been reported publicly.
"There's an awful lot more [intelligence] than that's even in the public domain," Schiff said on MSNBC's "Morning Joe."

Schiff's comments came in response to a tweet from Donald Trump Jr., who slammed Democrats and the media for "desperation" for covering a meeting he had in June 2016 with a Russian lawyer with Kremlin ties who promised him compromising information on Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton's campaign.

Former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper on Tuesday said it certainly appears that Donald Trump Jr.s email seeking damaging information on Hillary Clinton from an emissary of the Russian government meets the threshold of collusion.
Trump Jr. released the emails on Twitter after learning the the New York Times was in possession of a copy of the exchange. In that communicationccd to former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort and Trump son-in-law Jared KushnerTrump Jr. expresses a willingness to accept information from Russia that could damage Clintons campaign.
Ill leave it to the special counsel to determine whether the legal threshold of collusion was breached, but from this laymans point of view, it certainly appears that way to me, Clapper said, according to the Cipher Brief.
Clapper said the emails are only one anecdote in a much larger story, noting the exchange occurred before the campaigns heated up, and the Russians became steadily more aggressive with their campaign to interfere in the election.
I cant believe that this one exchange represents all there is, either involving the Presidents son or others associated with the campaign, Clapper told the Cipher Brief.

(10,497 posts)I know it is only a small amount of the overall conflagration that lies just below the hill ahead. I cannot wait until we top the rise and are able to see the extent of the fire. I am sure that the full extent will not be known by us for many years, maybe not all in my lifetime. I hope that Mueller and others will decide to let us see it all after this is over.
Nixon is probably rejoicing in Hell that Watergate will finally be eclipsed. We have an amateur group trying to run the country, or at least trying to profit from the position and cover their collective asses. Running the country is way down the list of things to do.
Watch for Republicans trying to move in fast forward to push through their Donor's crap before the Presidency totally implodes!

(5,730 posts)Leave. Like the House bill, no one ever said he had read it. Just too bad that we have to go through Pence, Ryan, and Orin Hatch and still wouldn't have a decent person to be Pres. Just what if...after 2018, Nancy had to step up as the Republicans go down, one by one. That's why they are after her.

(51,626 posts)They KNOW a lot. Or at least they know a lot more than we do and therefore the (the GOP reps) are not only complicit but guilty as hell in my book. Also, that is why they are trying to push the ACA repeal through so fast, especially now. The entire GOP is built on lies, corruption, greed, hypocrisy and treason. This is the culmination of over 30 years of "party over country". I hope they all fry. Nothing less will be justice.
Yes, I am angry and I want my country back in safe hands that I can trust when I go to bed at night.
