Rep. Emanuel Cleaver on Romney NAACP speech: "His advisors are not serving him well"

Questioned wisdom of standing in front of an NAACP audience and criticizing Obama and "Obamacare." Just interviewed a moment ago on Thomas Roberts' MSNBC show.

With Mitt Rob-me attending today's NAACP convention, he could paint the picture that he's at least brave enough to speak to a group of voters who aren't exactly his allies. I think he already knows that he'll be lucky to even make it into double-digits among Black voters. Plus, it could help him convince his base that he is conservative enough by going in front of that audience and suggesting the repeal of ACA.

= something they didn't do for Kerry in 2004.

I am certain the real audiance was the tv public sho as you said will be impressed he came and that he repeated his plan as he always did - ie consistency and no pandering. That he could afford to do this because he will not get those votes will be ignored. It also was - in parts - a well crafted speech, better than he usually is.

...that the NAACP was Rmoney's "audience" today. In fact, his audience is all the white television viewers who will be outraged that "those people" treated a respectable white man disrespectfully for criticizing "their boy in the White House.". In other words, Rmoney's very own "Sister Souljah moment." Viewed that way, Mittens's advisors are crazy...like a fox.

In other words, had Romney used any of the outrageous comments of Rush, Hannity or even some lesser known RW commenter - that would be one.

on the very thing they hate to be called out on. Racism.

They can pull out their white hoods, place them firmly on their heads, and holler to the gap-toothed punks and Brooks-brothers-clad yahoos next to them - "Les' RIDE boys".
