I post daily on DU...would you prefer that I start leaving Trump photos out of my posts?

Here's why I ask. A couple of reasons.

First, I'm as sick of looking at him as you are. Maybe more so. And as time goes on, he only gets worse.

For a while, it was a "Ha ha ha. look at the asshole" thing, but he's gone way past the point of being "amusing."

But more than that, it's not uncommon for me to post something I am hoping people will actually read, and the comments will end up being about the photo I posted, and not the article.

I'm OK with it...I'd just like to know how the folks here feel about it.

Good idea. I usually change TV channels when I see or hear him. It feels like a slap. n/t pnwmom Jul 2017 #5

I often add a photo, if possible, to any OP I post, too, think it makes it more interesting - especially since I assume that the majority may not click on the link, LOL. But whenever I've posted something that includes a pic of Trump, I figured, like you did, that nobody - including me - needs to see anymore of that orange face than they already do. However, if it's a funny one, that will probably be worth numerous recs...

I understand that because of the hackings on DU, HTML formatting has been turned off. But I REALLY MISS IT, because I always went to great lengths to format my posts for clarity and impact. I like things visual, I like posts that "pop."

But yeah...the face, the mannerisms, the voice, that "thumb and forefinger" thing he does with his tiny little hand when he wants to emphasize a point...six months in, he's worn me out.

And I miss HMTL, too. I usually highlight the subtitle, if there is one, and if I add a pic to a news story, I include the caption in italics. I'm a visual person, too, and I learned ages ago - think it was on Care2 - that stories with pix get more attention.

And I sure share your weariness with Trump. I was so sick of hearing about him - let alone seeing him - during the campaign that whenever that bloated bloviating face appeared on the news, I'd immediately change the channel. I figured once it was over, I'd never have to see or hear from him again. *sigh*

But stories that make fun of him - which are never in short supply - or those that show him to be the clueless doofus that we all know he is, especially if they're accompanied by an appropriately ridiculous photo, are bound to be especially popular here. I think we find it reassuring to know that somebody, somewhere, is noticing - besides us.

I get a visceral reaction everytime I see his face. I just want to punch him. seldom happens. Usually it occurs when stories post pictures of pedophiles or people who abuse children. So, essentually, child abusers and trump make me see red. I can do without that.

Leave his pictures out. I will read your posts with or without his ugly face, but we see enough of him everywhere else.

When I watch anything on TV that has his face, I have to look away. I am that tired of him.

Post them if they depict him as being the ignorant p.o.s. that he is.
When he's on the t.v. screen, the only thing I want to do is throw a brick at the t.v.
Can't afford many more t.v.'s.

I long ago stopped laughing. It's the same for me w/ TV. I zip past any clips of him speaking (thank you Tivo!) and just listen to news/commentary.

you know, (some) 'pictures are worth a thousand words' And then there's that whole failure to communicate thing.

But, we are all grown ups here, and not 'snowflakes'. If a picture of Trump turns people off or turns them away so be it. I agree with the poster above: if it adds to the post then include one.

We need to remember we are opposed to Trump and his terrible policies, not the critic commenting about him.

Solidarity!
