(1,644 posts)Besides, imagine the headlines if Romney refused to speak to a black audience. His campaign is smart enough to know that President Obama is going to get 90+ percent of the A-A vote, no matter what. No significant portion of it will switch to Romney, regardless of what he does. However, I think they figure that, if Mitt Romney can convince African-Americans that he is not really scary, some of them may simply stay home on election day, if they are not too happy with President Obama, for whatever reason. For the Romney campaign, that would be the next best thing to actually getting their votes. It's all about turnout.

(10,021 posts)eons before another African American is elected. I really don't understand why any African American would vote for a Republican under any circumstances or why they are Republicans. Talk about voting against your own best interest.
