Trump Humiliated As All 50 States Refuse To Give Him All Or Part Of Their Voter Data

Trump Humiliated As All 50 States Refuse To Give Him All Or Part Of Their Voter Data
By Jason Easley on Wed, Jul 5th, 2017 at 5:24 pm

Trump’s voter fraud commission has fallen flat on its face as every state in the country has refused to turn over voter data to the White House.

The Washington Post reported, “In a rare display of bipartisanship, officials in nearly every state have said they will partially or fully refuse to comply with President Trump’s voting commission, which has encountered criticism and opposition after issuing a sweeping request for voter data nationwide. Even as some of the resistance centers on Trump and members of his commission, the broader responses from the states indicate a strong and widespread belief that local officials should be managing elections and that the White House’s request for volumes of information went too far.”

There was universal agreement from the states that what Trump asked for was either unconstitutional or a violation of state law. It is not surprising that this White House would not bother to check state law or have their request reviewed to make sure that what they asked for from the states was actually legal.

The vast majority of states were not going to be so reckless as to turn over the sensitive personal information of their voters to the White House whose motives were suspect. Trump tried to go beyond asking for standard voter information, which is why he was correctly shot down.

This president has suffered another humiliation as the checks and balances that limit executive power remain alive and well, and will not let Donald Trump act like a king.

I have been informed mostly through liberal sites that Greg Abbott was going to hand over our data. So, glad to hear there is push-back!

I'm hoping Julian Castro runs against Abbott. I think Julian could win in a landslide!!!

South Carolina one of the states listed as refusing. Actually, the Governor and Sec or State said that they would turn over all info that is available to the public, but that would not include party registration (SC has no party registration) or SocSec numbers (that is forbidden by state law). But the Governor's statement went on to say he was glad this effort was underway since it may uncover large-scale voting fraud.
Our Gov was the Lt Gov during the campaign, and was the first statewide elected official to endorse Trump. Story is that Trump asked him if he wanted a job in the Administration or to be Governor - that is what led to Gov Nikki Haley getting the UN job so Lt Gov McMaster could move up. So I knew something wasn't quite right when SC was showing up on the refusal lists.

Why would anyone trust Kris Kobach? He is notorious for voter suppression with his crosscheck project. He moves people off the roles if they have similar names in othe areas, and urgjes other Republican states to do the same. If you have a name of Jose Garcia, you may be dropped from voter roles. This is like John Smith or Jones. Guess which is dropped, no matter what middle names or birth dates are. And we should trust the Trump administration with our voter information? I don't think so!
