I watched a Charlie Rose interview with 3 former White House Chiefs of Staff this morning.

It was a pre-recorded interview, but I found it very interesting. Video and transcript can be found here: https://charlierose.com/videos/30641

He interviewed the following: Jack Watson served from June 1980 to January 1981, as President Carter's last chief of staff. John Podesta was President Clinton's chief of staff from 1998, 2001, and Andy Card was chief of staff of George W. Bush from 2001 to April, 2006. Also joining me is Chris Whipple, he is the author of a new history of the chiefs of staff, it is called "The Gatekeepers: How the White House Chiefs of Staff Define Every Presidency."

It was hard for me watching serious, smart, knowledgeable people try to use respectful words for lying and clusterfuckery.

Highly recommended.
