(25,485 posts)He lied about being there? Until, someone told him they were pics?
At a Sunday news conference on the shutdown, Christie was asked if he got any sun today.
"I didn't," he said. "... I didn't get any sun today."
When later told of the photo, Brian Murray, the governor's spokesman, said:
"Yes, the governor was on the beach briefly today talking to his wife and family before heading into the office. He did not get any sun. He had a baseball hat on."

hope the voters who got him a 2nd time are so proud of themselves.

(1,900 posts)if he's on the beach, he did the citizens of New Jersey a favor by shutting it down. No one deserves to be exposed to that.

Thats just the way it goes.
That was Gov. Chris Chrsties response to reporters on Saturday when asked why it was okay for his family to vacation at Island Beach State Park over the Fourth of July weekend while everyone else was locked out of the popular destination because of the government shutdown Christie ordered, leaving state parks, beaches and other facilities closed.
The governor has a residence at Island Beach. Others dont, Christie said. Run for governor and you can have the residence.
During a press conference with reporters on Sunday, Christie said he is planning on returning to Island Beach State Park by helicopter tonight.
Thats where my family is sleeping, so thats where Ill sleep tonight, Christie said. When I have a choice between sleeping with my family and sleeping alone, I generally like to sleep where my family is.

(9,527 posts)I get that those jokes are easy to make, but many people suffer from weight related issues, both those who are overweight, but also perpetuating the cycle that leads people to undereating in an effort to be thin enough.
Unfortunately many people are hypocrites and while they wouldn't make those same jokes about a Democratic politician, they feel it's okay because Christie is "the enemy".

The negative impact on Ms. Guadagno's chances--something good will come of this after all.

(10,832 posts)Bully-boy Christie has abysmal polling numbers in my native state of NJ. His poll numbers are in the low 20s and his response?
"I don't care."
Well, you know what, buddy? The citizens of NJ don't care either. You and the Party you rode in on are out of my state come the election. Which explains the arrogance to bask in the sun with your family on the beach while the rest of the state--residents, vacationers and business owners suffer--from his blatant indifference. Can't tell you what a big deal this is for people with summer homes or the loss of revenue that small businesses will face. This is a huge holiday for shore people and shore businesses make it during the summer or they don't make it at all.
So, soak that sun up, you SOB. Because Jersey will be glad to see your butt wiggle out the door.
