Rick Wilson on Trump Apologists: "Clickservatism"

Inspired by those defending Trump's WWF tweet.

Yes I am very very critical of Wilson's conservative views.

However this is a good characterization of the intellectual and moral bankruptcy of Republicans whose knee-jerk response is to mindlessly defend Trump's every move.

-----------

"My formerly conservative friends and colleagues will spend the day defending the Leader of the Free World for ragetweeting a beef...he has with a news network, because that's what clickservatism is; immediate, reflexive defense of Trump, and hating the media.

Forget free markets, individual liberty, adherence to the Constitution, rule of law, or anything else for which conservatives stand.

Because your searing hatred of anyone who hasn't utterly capitulated to the Trump cult is more important, right?

The mental gymnastics, excuse-making, moral compromises, self-delusion, and daydrinking it must take to sustain you is epic.

Conservative outcomes (but muh Gorsuch!) in Trump's era are coincidental, accidental, or trivial. You're happy you get *anything*.

If you think about what *could* have been with a GOP House, Senate, and POTUS who isn't obviously mentally ill, you'd cry.

But hey! You can find a half-eaten Big Mac in the gutter and claim it's a lobster dinner all you like."

nonetheless as a result of the extreme ignorance and destruction your party will impart upon us.

The expert on climate change says the estimates of a meter rise by 2100 is off, it will be SIX to NINE meters.

So none of this really matters, capitalism and stupidity is definitely killing most of us and soon.

I think it is James Hansen who said this.

These people are why Trump will most likely survive politically, despite the daily evidence that he colluded with Russia.
