Related: Editorials & Other Articles, Issue Forums, Alliance Forums, Region ForumsCould the FBI demand Trump's twitter account be closed for national security reasons?
Could they put a restraining order on Twitter to close the account, or else face a charge of obstruction of justice?
Could they do something like that against the President of the United States?
Could he be such a threat that his account should be shut down?

(36,109 posts)When he was bitching about currency valuations and whining about US companies trying to compete. Seemed like an avenue ripe for national security issues

(13,061 posts)The only constraints are impeachment and conviction and removal from office by congress, or invocation of section 4 of the 25th amendment.
otherwise the president is essentially a law unto himself, at least at the federal level. It is unclear what would happen if a state attempted to arrest/indict/try him for violation of state laws.

(146,317 posts)Twitter could shut down his account, but is very unlikely to do that. But, the FBI can't restrict the Fake President from exercising his 1st Amendment rights, any more than they can do that to us.
Fake President Trump can use @fakeDonaldTrump to say pretty much whatever he wants. Personally, I think he is giving evidence against himself every time he tweets.
