Do Your Own Health Care And Pulling Your Own Teeth

The GOP plan is more like do your own health care. So if you need surgery you will be able to buy self surgical kits. Or even worse what about "do it yourself" dental care. Pull your own teeth. Or drill yourself and put in your own filling. What about do your own root canal. There is little dental health care insurance that pays much and that area is a virtual crisis.

Or we can go back to the days that you drank a bottle of whiskey and then let Doc Holliday work on you. Barbers did dental too.

This post has a personal meaning to me because of my uncle. He worked for Pillsbury Mill in the 1950's. They had a major lay off and he never was able to find a meaningful job again. He was an older worker then. He and his family struggled for years. My aunt washed and ironed clothes, baby sat and did anything to make a dime. My uncle ended up as a low paid janitor for years. Part Time.

The story was that he did not like doctors but when I think about it now he probably did not have nor could afford health insurance or even dental care even back then in the 1950's and 1960's. What was really interesting and HORRIFYING is that after he passed his daughters were inventorying his estate. What did they find in the corner of his basement? IN A SMALL JAR THERE WERE SEVERAL MOLARS SOME WITH MULTIPLE ROOTS. He had pulled them HIMSELF. Use your imagination about putting a pair of pliers in your mouth.

For a long time I thought what a tough guy he was and in many ways he really was. He was a man that I really respected in my youth and he and my dad were good friends for many years and played baseball and golf together in the 1920's and 1930's and 1940's. Now that I think about the DISCOVERY I realize that he probably pulled these teeth himself after they had abscessed. That he did that so his family would not have to spend the scarce money ON HIM. My uncle was very much like that you know.

The fact that so many people in this country think that denying people care is OK tells me that we are much less of a country than we think we are. This election should not even be close anywhere right now. The fact that the GOP will win many seats and maybe even more is almost too much to imagine. The GOP has turned into a bunch of evil racist bigoted and hateful people. I see no way that we can live with them in peace the way things are going.

Letting people with brain tumors go untreated with a brain tumor is unthinkable in a civilized society. What else will GOP triage let go untreated? A cousin died of a brain tumor. Such demise is ugly enough and very painful. Saying such a barbaric thing means that intense pain will go untreated as well. That asshole would have been run out of the room if I was there.

When do we get Dr Kevorkian back? He will be in great demand. I swear if I get a brain tumor, I'd try and find a way to do myself in. I've had migraines my whole adult life, plus a spinal headache after a surgery and a killer headache following a dural tear when my back surgery was done. No pain medication would touch it. And I mean the big guns like morphine, demerol, or.fentenyl.

To let someone die slowly of unrelenting pain is unbelievable. I'd rather have someone crush my skull than put up with that.

We need to order a public head crusher for the town square.
