The issue is that 1/3 of the country is of the mind that they are perfectly fine with him and 1/3 of the country does not particularly like him, but was at the time and for the most part still, are willing to just sit by and let be.
AND, that extends to republicans in general, in congress, in state governorships and legislatures, local government. It would take all day to list the absolute lunatics flying under the R flag who have been elected and will continue to get re-elected.
He and they are what they are - the problem is our neighbors and friends who see fit to vote for, or enable them getting elected by sitting it out or buying the evil liberal boogyman meme.
