Let the debunking begin in 3...2...1...

A Wall Street Journal analysis of political spending unveiled Tuesday found that organized labor groups dropped a combined $4.4 billion on political activities between 2006 and 2011, about four times more than previously estimated.

The Journal cast a wide net to determine what counted as "political spending," including activities that range from traditional candidate donations to the cost of hot dogs for union demonstrators at political rallies.
To find the additional costs, the newspaper added spending reports filed with the Labor Department to Federal Election Commission spending data. From the report, which is partially behind a paywall at WSJ.com, but is available in full at FoxNews.com:

How about the money we or they can not follow? Especially money funding the GOP and all their political supporters and their activities and how that money has infiltrated our political processes in a harmful and negative way..

Sorry for going OT, just makes me mad that all of a sudden typically known Dem activities are under the microscope.

Using this "wide net", the entire annual operating cost of Fox "News" could be defined as political spending.

As could the gazilions of dollars paid to right wing radio pukers.

Well, if you have to scrape THAT much wood off the bottom of the barrel to show that unions spent $880 million a year on political activities, and then bundle it together to make it look like one lump sum that's STILL about eight billion less than is being spent by the Mittens campaign just this year?

*cough*
