Senator King also served as the 72nd Governor of Maine, and during his two terms in the Blaine House, he focused on economic development and job creation. Then-Governor King also achieved significant reforms in education, mental health services, land conservation, environmental protection, and the delivery of state services. He was re-elected in 1998 by one of the largest margins in Maines history.
Senator King is married to Mary Herman and has four sons, Angus III, Duncan, James, and Ben, one daughter, Molly, and six grandchildren. He was born in Virginia and attended Dartmouth College and the University of Virginia Law School. In his free time, he enjoys exploring the Maine outdoors either on his Harley or with his family in their camper.

Wednesday afternoon, Senator Angus King (I-ME) searched for the new healthcare bill on the Senate floor.
When King approached the podium, he began by saying, Just a moment, Madam President, Im looking for the healthcare bill.
I know its here somewhere, King continues.
He didnt have any luck.
No, I havent been able to find it. Ive been looking all morning, but I suspect maybe well find it in the next couple of days.

Denouncing a new Republican health care bill Thursday, independent U.S. Sen. Angus King of Maine called it a really cruel bid to take health care away from the poor, disabled and elderly so very wealthy people can get a tax cut.
While King offered harsh words about the proposed overhaul of the Affordable Care Act, U.S. Sen. Susan Collins took a wait-and-see position.

(4,407 posts)Your post implies that Hillary should not have had to run against Sanders. That your post reinforces the "entitlement" attitude that her people projected.
I see a lot of anger on here when people suggest that the fact that the Democratic party is now powerless shows that it is time for serious change. As if things have been working so well for us.

It's pretty clear which other Independent Senator that is about. From DU's perspective, hardly an hour goes by when he doesn't grandstand and disparage Democrats.
