Allen West Calls Reports Of Him Equating Social Security To Slavery 'False'
Posted: 07/10/2012 10:57 am

Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) sought to do damage control on Monday after sparking controversy with remarks he made over the weekend.

"Liberal media reports saying I am equating Social Security of hardworking Americans to a form of slavery is absolutely false," the Tea Party-backed freshman wrote on Facebook. "It seems that there is absolutely no level the attack machine will sink to deliberately distort my comments. ... I was clearly talking about the number of people on Social Security disability -- a completely separate issue then claims that I said I am against Social Security."

Earlier, during an appearance on Fox News Sunday, West said, "Since June of 2009 or so, we have seen 2.4 million private-sector jobs created, but we’ve had 3.1 million people going on Social Security disability and, as we said just this past month, the 85,000 went on Social Security disability as opposed to 80,000 jobs created." He added, "So once again we are creating the sense of economic dependence which, to me, is a form of modern, 21st-century slavery."

"Why do you guys keep on claiming I compared Social Security to slavery when all I did was compare Social Security to slavery! Can't a man compare Social Security to slavery without some liberal media person twisting his words around by claiming he compared Social Security to slavery? Stop taking me out of context!"

They use him as their race card..."How can you say I hate Obama when I voted for Allen West? How dare you call me racist!" They really love him in Palm Beach, mainly because the hate that Jeeeeeeew Democrat Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

I actually got myself banned from posting to a discussion of a friend's last week, partly because of West. And old school friend of mine is a prominent real estate broker in Palm Beach county and, natch, a Republican. So I see his FB feeds. I kept posting facts and charts and graphs rebutting all the bullshit they were posting. They got more and more irate until finally I was blocked from posting.

Damn those facts!

had a Democrat acted the way West continuously acts, would the AlwaysWrongRight be as enthralled with him/her? Don't think so. They'd eviscerate him/her. But as Rachel Maddow coined it, IOKIYAR.

Yes, facts are annoying things that the AlwaysWrongRight try to ignore or dismiss because if they had to accept them their whole ideology would crumble in a nanosecond and they'd see what a bunch of fools and dolts they really are.

Because they are itching to divert the actual racial attacks on the President by trivalizing the conversation.

Which I would suggest responding, "Unless someone is accusing Allen West of falsifying his US citizenship, carrying around pictures of him as an Africian Witch Doctor at protests, or making bumper stickers in reference to him reading, 'Don't Re-Nig in 2012', I would suggest taking your token claims of 'racism' and shoving it up your ass!"

It explains how we got to Governor McFraudy as well.

Thankfully, our previous and more sensible governor (Crist) got rid of Diebold and electronic voting.

But here's the thing about West--he lives in Debbie Wasserman Shultz's district, and despite having a glowing hatred of her, he's too afraid to challenge her. So he ran in a neighboring district, District 22, twice. He lost the first time in 2008, but won in the Teabaggerthon 2010 election.

Of course, a combination of redistricting and West's penchant for continiually making an ass out of himself made him all the less popular in District 22.

So for 2012 Brave Sir Allen, the self-proclaimed war hero (if you call a "hero" somoene who has detainees beaten and conducts mock executions on them, and then being charged with violations of the UCMJ for such actions) hightails it out of District 22 and into District 18, a district up the coast with a slightly higher number of Republicans.

Too bad that not only does he have a Democratic challenger in the form of Patrick Murphy, but he even got a Republican challenger (who he is too afraid to debate).

I hope this guy's days in elected office are over soon; after losing I'm sure Fox will scoop him off the floor and give him plenty of punditry airtime.

Why do you guys keep on claiming I compared Social Security to slavery when all I did was compare Social Security to slavery!

So...he didn't compare Social Security to "slavery;" instead he compared Social Security to "slavery."

Do I have that right?

It's one of those statements I had to read several times...not for depth of wisdom or philosophical insight, but to determine if what he said was really what he said...

Allen West: I Am The Modern Day Harriet Tubman [UPDATE]

WASHINGTON -- Freshman Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.) said Wednesday that he is "the modern day Harriet Tubman" leading people away from the plantation, which is overseen by "perceived leaders in the black community" like Jesse Jackson who bow to the wishes of white liberals.

During an appearance on Fox News' "The O’Reilly Factor," West said black Democrats have consistently failed to address high unemployment in the black community and, in the meantime, continue to take black votes for granted come election time.

"So you have this 21st Century plantation ... where the Democrat party has forever taken the black vote for granted, and you have established certain black leaders who are nothing more than the overseers of that plantation," West said. "And now the people on that plantation are upset because they’ve been disregarded, disrespected and their concerns are not cared about."

"So I’m here as the modern day Harriet Tubman to kind of lead people on the Underground Railroad away from that plantation into a sense of sensibility."
