What's it like?

I love my job and and fully involved in the flow of life right now, but I worry.

As a college prof I get summers off and these months feel more and more like the training ground for retirement, but . . .

And then there's the issue of depression.

at least for me - take something you love and just do it more and differently. My 25 years in Pharma were a good paycheck and a lousy day, most days. I gardened as a hobby. Since my books, gardening is my second career - I am actually busier doing this but far more happy because I get to be around far happier people. And yes, make far, far less money!

So important to keep the brain engaged...I think that's how to keep depression away for some of us.

I maintain a genealogy website for my county. My husband provides a section of the back yard for garden space for 4 Hmong families. Plows it up, sections it off and provides water for them from a well point.
Opens the half of the compost that's ready to use (we have two) and they can use it as they want it. Plus he's building a trailer for hauling stuff.
Keeps us both busy.
