Trump: "It wasn't very stupid, I can tell you that"

Morning Joe: They just showed a Fox & Friends tweet in which the host told Trump that his "Hope there are no TAPES" tweet was "A VERY SMART WAY TO MAKE SURE HE STAYED HONEST DURING THOSE HEARINGS."

Trump replied "It wasn't very stupid, I can tell you that."

"I didn't tape, I don't have any tape, I didn't tape. When he found out there MIGHT BE tapes, I think his story changed. But I didn't tape."

Indeed prison orange for Agent Orange is a must. He tried the same witness intimidation tactic against Sallie Yates by accusing her of leaking prior to her testimony. Didn't work then didn't work with James Comey. But it should add to the list of indictable and impeachable offenses.

exactly. I was watching Lawrence O'Donnell last night catch what don the con said when the relationship between Comey and Mueller is "bothersome"? I will tell him what relationship is bothersome him and Putin. Now that is bothersome.

Lying to Congress, even if not under oath, is a crime. In addition, Comey, like many others, values his reputation for honesty.

It kind of makes sense as he also has little or no sense of empathy. Where some people excel in listening to others and work hard to understand where they are coming from to try to find some common ground to build a better relationship on, he seems to have absolutely no interest in anyone other than himself. This seems to lead him to not even consider that others have values that he so obviously doesn't.

He has lied constantly for years - and for most of his life, he was in the position of the boss who had no one to call him on his lies. In the election, even as the media listed his lies - at the beginning - then simply noted they were too many to point out in each speech, his supporters absolutely ignored that he lied often and changed his lies depending on who he was talking to. Could it be that MOST people, including many politicians, if they were caught in an actual lie, would apologize or at least look very uncomfortable? Not Trump.

It is interesting that he is obviously angry that some people have called his tweet on taping "stupid" (or as he calls it "not smart&quot . Obviously it was pretty stupid and it got him a special prosecutor. Yet, his ego demands that he STILL claim that it somehow was a brilliant strategy that we just don't understand.

Don the con will never admit he was wrong but he vastly miscalculated the firing of Comey. He just is unable to process the possibility that anyone would not respond to his intimidations.

Comey has said the same thing from day one. Whereas trump's story consistently changes.

"Good, Lord. I hope there are tapes." Nobody can fake the facial expressions and tone he had with that line. Right then and there trump knew he was screwed.

And he knows they are his line of defense against any attacks from Democrats or Republicans or the "liberal media". He understands his audience very well. Even if they are hungry and their guts are growling, he can convince them that they are hungry because of Barack Obama and the Democrats that block his attempts to help them.

He is not a Socialist, Nationalist, progressive, Neo Con, Libertarian, he even loses as an Authoritarian. Fascist comes close but he does not make that grade. So Trump has no ideology. However there is a characteristic that approaches an ideology that permeates all Trump interactions. Donald Trump is a LIAR.

When does he not lie?

After Comey testified, the New York Times headline read "Calling Comey a Liar, Trump Says He Will Testify Under Oath ". Now he brags about frightening Comey into staying honest. So he admits that he tried to intimidate a witness and that Comey told the truth.
How stupid is he? He is easily the stupidest US President ever.

What if???

Trump really DID tape the meeting? What if he had his "twitter machine" recording? Maybe the staff knew it and maybe they didn't. So, he tries to intimidate Comey by hinting that he "has the tapes" but soon realizes that not only could they be subpoenaed but that they also back up Comey's testimony. So now he has to lie about having tapes and try to make it look like some kind of three-dimensional chess strategy.

Oh yeah...and he has to destroy whatever recording he actually had.

Point is...when was he lying? Then or now?

With Trump you can never tell.

Fri Jun 23, 2017, 09:30 AM
Jun 2017

1) There are tapes but they would have to be doctored by Jared in a way the techs at FBI couldn't detect.
2) There were no tapes but maybe Jared could phony some up.

In either case, Jared couldn't figure out a way to get something past those FBI techs (smart kid that Jared) so they went with: there were no tapes.

Seriously, though, I think the delay really was to see whether they could produce something that could counter Comey's testimony.

Comey could not contradict his own memos. Now if you had "tapes" that could cast doubt on Comey's rock solid memos, that might have changed things...but you didn't and you fucking panicked and did the usual- try to lie your way out of it to buy some time and change the narrative like a fucking two year old.
