(3,477 posts)Combined. In regard to my earlier post, what are your thoughts on the subject of knife control? Considering the incident in Portland recently in addition to those high-profile I mentioned, it seems this conversation is long overdue.

(3,477 posts)Was purchased by the perpetrator specifically for this purpose. I wonder if a mandatory waiting period could have potentially prevented this tragedy. Do you have any thoughts on knife control legislation?

(54,770 posts)down the street with a friggin gun (if I were so inclined, which I'm not), but I can't carry a 6 inch knife.

(3,477 posts)Possibly based on configuration. Perhaps required on any knife with a blade over 1.5 inch in length, and any knife with a spear type point.

(6,324 posts)Maybe it did. Maybe he had never fired a gun and would have fumbled and not been able to operate it or would have missed.
Maybe he would have gotten a shot off but hit the officer in his vest and the officer would have actually sustained less severe wounds.
