Director of National Intelligence Dan Coats and National Security Agency Director Adm. Mike Rogers described their interactions with the President about the Russia investigation as odd and uncomfortable, but said they did not believe the President gave them orders to interfere, according to multiple sources familiar with their accounts.
Sources say both men went further than they did in June 7 public hearings, when they provided little detail about the interactions.
The sources gave CNN the first glimpse of what the intelligence chiefs said to Mueller's investigators when they did separate interviews last week. Both men told Mueller's team they were surprised the President would suggest that they publicly declare he was not involved in collusion, sources said. Mueller's team, which is in the early stages of its investigation, will ultimately decide whether the interactions are relevant to the inquiry.

Hmmm, so the leaks are coming from within Congress by BOTH parties!
A ReThug is leaking?? DAMN...knock me over with a feather. I wonder who the hell the ReThug with loose lips is and why?

(15,682 posts)A Democrat leaked this:
"...President Donald Trump suggested they say publicly there was no collusion between his campaign and the Russians..."
A republican leaked this:
"...described their interactions with the President about the Russia investigation as odd and uncomfortable, but said they did not believe the President gave them orders to interfere..."
So, it's true. Both a Democrat and a Republican leaked the testimonies of Dan Coats and Adm. Mike Rogers about their conversations with the head maggot.

(46,757 posts)these two men are hostile witnesses.
How do you suggest something when you're holding the office of the presidency? Are we at a point now where a president can sit in on strategic meetings to commit illegal activities, and as long as he uses words like, "I think" or "I hope," he earns plausible deniability?

(5,813 posts)He could convey the message but be vague enough (in his mind) to avoid being accused of giving a direct order. But the master at using weasel words was Carter Page who used might, possibly, maybe all in one sentence! LOL
I also noticed that tRump in the Lester Holt interview softened his tone when describing how he supposedly asked about being under investigation. Butter wouldn't melt in his mouth as he claimed to ask if he could "possibly" be given that information. I almost fell off my chair laughing at the obviously fabricated demonstration by tRump of how he asked that question. I hope there ARE tapes of that conversation. Oh, puh-leezzz, let there be tapes. 🙏🙏🙏

(15,805 posts)so inappropriate that it made them feel"odd and uncomfortable", what did they do? Trump told both men that he wanted them to "publicly declare he was not involved in collusion", which is classic obstruction of justice. How did they handle his request? Did that flat out tell him no, did they drop little helpful tidbits to the news media as unnamed sources?
