(7,911 posts)to prevent people from removing the solar panels and walking away with them?
If the US put the wall slightly inside the border, what would prevent Mexico from putting up a curtain just inside their own border to shade the panels from the sun?
The point is, put panels on the Mexican side of the wall and they WILL be stolen and sold back to off-grid Americans on the black market.

(16,875 posts)When trump proposed the solar wall, he was implying that because of the solar panels the wall would be beautiful. Since conventional wisdom states that, in the northern hemisphere, solar panels should face south for the most optimal sun exposure, Mexico would be the beneficiary of the "beautiful" solar panels, the US would get the back side. Yes, we would benefit from the energy generated from them but the wall would not be some glorious thing to behold if we're seeing the panels from behind...hope that clarifies. (Hey pnwmom...hope you are well!!!)
