Republicans are not Opposed to Increasing Middle Class Taxes

Earlier today when President Obama announced that he wanted a one year extension on middle class tax cuts he said Republicans were opposed to increasing taxes on the middle class. President Obama is wrong. Republicans are only opposed to raising taxes on rich people. Many of the tax plans put out by Republicans call for tax increases on not just the poor, but the middle class.

It was reported by multiple sources that the Paul Ryan budget plan, which is supported by Mitt Romney, would raise taxes on the poor and middle class while cutting taxes on the rich. In addition, recently Republicans have taken up a new tax talking point. They have said the real problem with the tax system in America is the tax base is too small and needs to be expanded. In order to expand the tax base taxes on lower income individuals have to be raised.

1. They Go Beyond That

They also support increasing taxes and fees on the freeloading poor who caused the recession. They keep playing the slacker poor meme in a racist way by implying that tax dollars of hard working people are being given to minorities, except they use two words that start with "N" and "S". There are no words to describe how far beyond dementia we are as a country today.

Spell out their willingness to raise taxes on the middle class clearly.

3. I just hope the president sticks to his guns and vetoes any legislation that features tax cuts for

the wealthy. If that means letting all of the tax cuts expire, then it shall be so. If the entire country's taxes go up because the Republicans refuse to bend on wealthy tax breaks, it will expose whose side they are really on.

If you haven't gathered, I'm not a big fan of the tax cuts. Let them expire across the board.

5. Let The Cuts Expire

The only way we have even the slightest chance to dig ourselves out of the mess we've created, is if tax revenues increase.

WHEN the economy does finally crash, as a result of the policies these past 12 years, the repubs will almost definitely blame it on the taxes going up.

I am certain this won't happen though, and Mr. Obama will extend the * cuts later this year.
