Trump is used to making "deals" to get out of trouble..If a close associate "flips" on Trump..then the deal has already been made, and Trump himself is in danger....

So don't hold you breath waiting for Trump to be RICO'd. And Ford pardoning Nixon set the precedent. No former President will ever face criminal trial or imprisonment.

And Trump would probably perform mass commutations or pardons in order to disguise his motives.
