Jared Kushner to visit Middle East in pursuit of peace between the Israelis and the Palestinians

Jared Kushner, President Trump's son-in-law and a senior White House adviser, is traveling to the Middle East this week in pursuit of a peace deal between the Israelis and the Palestinians, a White House official confirmed Sunday night.

Kushner will meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah as a Trump envoy, along with Jason Greenblatt, an assistant to Trump and special representative for international negotiations.

The visit comes one month after Trump's maiden trip to the region, during which he met with Israeli and Palestinian officials and committed to working to bring both sides together in a lasting peace agreement. The Wall Street Journal first reported news of Kushner and Greenblatt's trip.

Greenblatt was scheduled to arrive in the Middle East on Monday, with Kushner arriving Wednesday for the conversations with Israeli and Palestinian leaders, according to the White House official, who detailed the trip on the condition of anonymity.

I can't believe they are sending a completely inexperienced twerp like Jared to do something that seasoned statesmen/women and diplomats have not been able to do for decades!

He is either there to make more shady deals for "the family" or he is looking for a place to run to. The guy is about as charismatic and persuasive as mildewey old dishtowel - there is no way he should even be considered to be doing a job that the SOS should be doing.

The Palestinians had a cooperative leader and the best mediator, it would be unlikely unless Netanyahu joined with people to his left and threw out Bennet. Apparently there were secret talks in 2016 to do that, but Netanyahu got cold feet.

If Jared and Greenblatt can do it more power to them.

So 46% plus 29% is 75%. What do you make of 75% of the population that either votes for a blithering idiot, or is not interested enough to participate in the democratic process?

In France, they were mortified and decrying the sad lack of voter participation in the last election, where they saw and appallingly low turnout of 75% of the eligible voters, even with the level of Russian interference in their elections.

I would not say were are as severe as the other poster said, but when more people know who the Kardashians are or who Taylor Swift is pretend dating then know about our political system, then there is something wrong.

there are reasons for not voting besides being stupid. Some are apathy or disliking both candidates.

However, if you look at the results of not voting in this situation, you have to realize that it is not smart to become apathetic or to dislike the candidates to the point where you end up with someone like Trump. Would you care do defend the wisdom and intelligence of those decisions?

So this is the genius who brought you Trump University, 2 bankruptcies, the failure of Trump Mortgage, Trump Vodka, Trump Steaks, and many more failed projects, some of them international. So he's clearly the guy to solve the world's most intractable political problem. Plus Jared the Wonder Boy, of course, who is under investigation for dubious international financial deals. Who could you possibly trust more?
