Dear Brad,

I’d feel a bit more like ‘unity’ if the woman standing to your left at the ball field photo wasn’t wearing a T shirt that said ‘DEMOCRACY KICKS’ with a graphic of an elephant kicking a donkey. Yeah I get it. “Kicks Ass”.
Democratic Ass.
Nice.
(Sorry DU, couldn't get it to copy here.)

Republicans have brought this on themselves by giving at least tacit approval to the hate spewed by the likes of Limbaugh, Coulter, Hannity, Malkin, Jones, O’Reilly, Falwell (Sr. and Jr.), ad nauseum, ad infinitum.

Your party, together with all of the above plus Rove and Buchannan and Gohmert and yes, Mitch (Our number one priority is to make Barack Obama a one term president.) McConnell.

You have sewn this division.
Your party has successfully demonized liberals and the Democratic Party.
We are now the enemy.
Does it surprise you that some have been driven over the edge?
It shouldn’t.
Congratulations.
But it does seem that in ‘winning’ you have lost.
Now you are reaping what you have sown.

Dear Dr. trof:

Thank you for contacting me with your concerns about President Donald Trump. I appreciate hearing from you.

I take Mr. Trump at his word, and he has pledged to be a President for all Americans. I believe he will work to unite Americans instead of divide us. I also do not expect Congress to support or advance any policy that would discriminate against American citizens.

There is a lot of tension in today’s political climate. Some of it is fair and some of it is a byproduct of the national news media. Ultimately, I encourage you to look back at our nation’s history. We have had highs and lows as different political leaders moved in and out of power. Ultimately, our country is not defied by political parties or politics but by our people. Looking back on our history should give you great confidence that our nation will be just fine in the future.

Again, thank you for reaching out to my office. I am honored to serve as your voice in Congress, and I hope you will stay in touch. Please do not hesitate to contact me if I can ever be of assistance to you.
