I look at Youtube a lot since my hobby is woodworking and I am always looking for new projects or tools or ideas I can use. All of a sudden, starting yesterday, for some reason every time I go to the youtube homepage I get constant, multiple recommendations for right wing videos, and I mean ultra right, with stories about Obama's "real identity", how Hillary should be in jail and worse. I can't get rid of the damned things.
Could this be an example of bots uploading crap to youtube to influence recommendations? Is this the kind of baloney that the Russians have been doing?
Edit: Just went to youtube a minute ago and now they are recommending the Alex Jones Channel? I click the "X" to get rid of this kind of stuff and when i refresh, boom, that crap is back again.

(58,667 posts)from opening a website or FB page that had those links and now you're registered with YT as someone who wants that crap. Toss in a few bot recommends and you're hooked into their evil network. It's how they work.
I know you can block (kind of) that kind of crap on FB. Not sure about YT. Good luck.

Example. We are looking for a beach condo for a vacation. Since my wife and I searched those sites I seen probably a 50% increase of vacation condo sites in all feeds.
In other words it overwhelms when you show an interest in something.
