I Blame The Media - There Are Not Two Sides - There Is Right And Wrong

The MSM equates people who believe nothing but a pack of lies with people who care about the future of our world.

There are not two sides.

There is one caring, reality based side, and a bunch of reality deniers that are stroking their guns while watching Fox Lies, and living in a fantasy world created by Roger Ailes. A world where welfare queens driving Caddillacs and Mexicans are the cause of all of our problems. Where the ice isn't melting, and tax cuts for billionaires solve every problem. Where you can call yourself a christian, and cut food stamps and school lunches for starving children. The list goes on.

The media treats Republicans like they aren't 1. spreading lies, 2. distortions, 3. and are simply traitors working to amass power by destroying their opposition, democracy, our planet, and our families at the same time. "Conservatives" who sell us out every day simply to get $$ from the Koch Brothers and their traitor, planet wasting filthy rich buddies with trillions in their offshore bank accounts.

I have not seen one single media outlet state the fact the talking points the White House released last week was 100% lies.

They seem to want the lies into the debate to sell advertising.

It's sick.

I don't know what to do.

against the symptoms. Granted, this comes in two forms. At the upper echelons, there are rich and upper middle class Democrats who don't actually believe there's a huge problem with our system at large--no surprise since they benefit from it--but who have really latched on to the war against the "deplorables." Which is why some people have gone so long having basically no problem with the media, or at least finding one or two people they like, from Fareed Zakkaria, to Anderson Cooper, to Chris Matthews, etc. All of which are feeding us absolute tripe. So many "I'm done with so and so" threads here now that we're seeing some of them give Trump cover, but it always astonishes me that people weren't done with these pundits a long time ago. They haven't stopped being good. They were never good.

So, it is in the media's interest to antagonize the opposition which causes them to raise even more money to refute the lies.

We will never know.

Even though the money is our world's #1 problem.

Our country / world is ran by the $$ of the oligarchs. They fund the elections, politicians, organizations, the think tanks, and own the media. They are even microtargeting us with their software, pushing us. Misinforming us.

GET THE MONEY OUT

Not one story on CNN or MSNBC (Fox never counts) on the influence of money on everything.

We are being screwed.

Sun Jun 18, 2017, 12:52 PM

There are two distinct realms involved in discussing an issue.
Values, or what is right/wrong; and then there are the objective facts or data.

These are distinct areas for discussion. If the parties involved in an issue can't agree about what they WANT to do, then the use of "facts" becomes a sort of sniping campaign where the objective is little more than an effort to neutralize one's opponent.

This bifurcation of a problem clearly labeled in economics:
Normative economics refers to the values discussion
Positive economics refers to the analysis and data collection done in accordance with best science practices.

Without understanding the separation of these elements involved in problem solving, it will be rare that a workable solution will emerge and dysfunction such as we see in the health care debate is the result.

And those of us who recognize it are a fucking majority no less. The idiot dupes who don't, give the plutocrats just enough cover to continue the screwing.

The other big myth is that the R's and the D's in DC are all more-or-less basically the same. They aren't, not by a long shot. But many nevertheless believe that.

Are we doomed? Where the hell is this going? We gotta get money out of politics -- it's the only way!

Was the fattened calf bellowing how 99.6 percent of poor households "have a refrigerator". So, see, even the poor are the "haves".
Of course, disregard that with cutting food stamp programs, most of those refrigerators have too little to eat inside. Of what there is, it is pasteurized, processed fakey food designed to make saturated fats look and taste remotely like cheese. Packages of hot dogs filled with fillers and by-products... I know from working at a turkey plant years ago, that includes ALL the by-products. The shit. The feathers, the claws, the beaks, all the nasty bits so dessicated and cooked extra long to actually make it resemble something like "meat".
Disregard that a good percentage of those refrigerators don't function well enough to keep anything safely stored and the owners cannot afford a new one on McDonald's salary.
Disregard that it's in a travel trailer in a squalid trailer park with a leaky roof and plumbing.
Disregard that despite all these desperate steps to keep a roof over their heads, many will not even have that trailer roof overhead if the unemployment rate skyrockets under republican tyranny.
And it sickens me that a good portion of those with just that squalid a living situation, many voted for Frump "because he'll bring back thuh coal minin' jobs".
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGHHHH.

The biggest danger America faces from the media now is the "normalization" of the Trump presidency. His mental state and character deficiencies are far from normal. We cannot allow this presidency to be passed off as "normal" just because it is easier for the media to do so than to face reality.

it starts at the local radio station and until liberals stop blaming its dumb little brother fox for this shit it won't get any better.

at a cheap $1000/hr x 15hrs/day x 5 = $75,000/wk x 1200 stations rw talk radio is worth $18MIL/day or 390MIL$ /month or 4.68 BIL$/ year FREE for coordinated global warming denial, pro republican free market deregulation and wall st think tank propaganda, swiftboating, and the hate and fear used to get people to vote republican.

and a lot of hate and bigotry and misogyny

so that's been going for 30 years and dems don't even poll for it.

and our liberal orgs let 88 universities support 257 limbaugh stations without complaint.

fix the radio and fox will fall apart

33. John Dickerson did it today!!!
Sun Jun 18, 2017, 02:17 PM
Jun 2017

His closing comments today were"

"After Wednesday's shooting, Congressman Gary Palmer said, "our Republic is in danger" and that we are "fraying at the edges." Congressman Rodney Davis said, "the way we talk to each other has to change. The political hate has to end."

It's not the words we use, it's what's in our hearts. We are meaner than we used to be. According to the Pew Research Center, a majority of BOTH PARTIES see the other in "very unfavorable" terms, a view that has doubled SINCE 1994.

...But we can do more than hope. We can act and we must, because WE ARE ALL part of the problem."

========================

And that, got me shouting at the TV!!!

'Ya know what Mr. Dickerson? I could agree with that, but let's start with YOU and the so-called liberal media who never fail to have as a guest, publicly disgraced con man and serial adulterer, Newt Gingrich who, in that 1994 you mention, actually wrote the damn book on verbal bomb-throwing. Endorsed it. Enhance it. TAUGHT it. You cannot look at the political events since 1994 and pretend that HIS virulently hateful politics belonged to any other than - the Republican Party. There is NO equivalent on the Left to the scumbags like Newt, gleefully meting out those verbal bombs Every. Single. Fucking. Day.

And by having him as a guest - YOU abet that bomb throwing!
