2. The seeming multiplicity of investigations speaks for itself...
Wed Jun 14, 2017, 10:48 PM

The one additional part of the WaPo article is broad and vague but in its own way represents the most peril for the President and his entourage. At one point the article reads: “Mueller is overseeing a host of investigations involving people who are or were in Trump’s orbit, people familiar with the probe said. The investigation is examining possible contacts with Russian operatives as well as any suspicious financial activity related to those individuals.” Earlier in the piece, there’s this: “Investigators have also been looking for any evidence of possible financial crimes among Trump associates, officials said.”

The seeming multiplicity of investigations speaks for itself. But it is the repeated reference to “financial crimes” or “suspicious financial activity” that grabs my attention.

All those ties with Russian mobsters and all this financing showing up from Russia out of the blue when the US banks would not lend to him. It just SCREAMS money laundering and it's probably pretty well hidden but you can never completely hide it and the FBI has deep pockets to look into every fucking deposit into 500 different banks if they have to. If he did it then they will find it.

If I had been him there is no way in HELL I would have ever run for president and opened up having a spotlight on me. His hubris is going to take him down and down hard!

But my concern was that if they did not find it by now,
they may not find it. With the help of swindlers like Putin
who probably has a lot of experience hiding shady deals,
who knows what he is able to get away with.

I mean, 'someone' at the IRS has access to Trump's tax returns.
Couldn't they have procured a red flag by now?

We were hoping MSNBC would be a recluse where we didn't have to hear 'TRUMP TRUMP TRUMP' all the time.

I remember looking at my boyfriend with a pit in my stomach saying "Seriously! Why are they doing this? This cannot have a good outcome". I mean, I remember on Chris Matthews, they had an hour long bio on Trump. All his 'accomplishments', and maybe two slight negative inferences. I was like "Why.. WHY!?".

Mueller had brought on an investigator who was experienced in that aspect.

9. His casinos took dirty money from the Russian mob for years
Wed Jun 14, 2017, 11:24 PM

The Feds have already been watching that, and they can pretty much prove it. They've been trying to get former employees to talk and that's what stalled the investigation. It's been in the news since last year but the laundering happened years ago. (His casino in Atlantic City went bankrupt about 7 or 8 years ago.)

Another way Trump has laundered Russian mob money is taking very large payments for Trump properties. Like 10x the selling price so they were really payoffs and illegal campaign contributions. This involves the entire Trump family plus Jared Kushner by the way.

There are several threads right here on DU if you search for them. Even if the Feds never prove Trump's guilt on the Russian thing, they already have him on RICO and money laundering. I just hope they get him for back taxes too. Wouldn't that be great?

the last of which (Taj Mahal) was part of a second (final) bankruptcy just 3 years ago, and he ended up selling it to Carl Icahn at that point. Icahn fought with the casino's union (then on strike to recover pension and other benefits), and eventually closed it completely last year. Icahn just sold it to Hard Rock this year, so looking forward to seeing how that pans out. The location is literally across from Steel Pier (and connects to it via a skywalk).

One of my sisters had found a fire sale deal for a weekend there while it had been in bankruptcy where her ocean front room was like $60 a night. This was the entity that had the Russian mobsters early in its history in the '90s.

The other 2 included what used to be the Holiday Inn years and years ago (I recall staying there back in '74) right next to the old Boardwalk Hall (where they had the Miss America contest, and eventually expanded and sold), and the the Marina (also sold). The Marina was originally to be a Hilton, but was refused a casino license due to Hilton management's mob ties.
