I hope he survives and recovers quickly. I also hope he has an epiphany about his leadership efforts to destroy health care access in America. He is getting care without financial peril. If he was one of the 23,000,000 who will lose insurance, he would get care followed by debt and likely bankruptcy. Once stable, he would be returned to the street without access to follow up care or therapy.
He needs to reexamine his hatred of America while recovering.

(111,367 posts)The one thing a conservative is incapable of is admitting he was wrong about anything. He's got his insurance, to hell with us.
If anything, he'll double down on all of it, with a slice of being punitive toward anyone to the left of Mussolini.

(16,094 posts)But your hope that he has some kind of mind opening epiphany, is really a waste of hope! In his mind he is getting the care that goes with the job...and it's not his problem if 23,000,000 of his fellow Americans don't have access to the same care...because he got his, and that's all that matters!!!
Look at reality, he won't change, none of the members who were there will change their minds...

(28,876 posts)He's likely still on a ventilator after surgery, which alone constitutes a "critical" level of care.
How quickly he gets off the ventilator is typically a function of his pre-incident general health (I.e. Obesity, heart disease status, etc.)
I anticipate (and hope) he'll come out of this okay.

(29,728 posts)He didn't want greater background checks. Maybe, if he (and I hope does) survive, I hope he understands the need for others to have protection from the people who are "crazy" that need to have guns kept out of their hands.
