http://www.nextavenue.org/blog/jane-fondas-latest-comebackI just watched the third installment of the show, and the way I see it, if you add the first and second, then you come near how good the third was.
This is the first show in decades, other than Bill Maher, that I have taken a shining to and sit down to watch.
I'm having such a good time with it!!!
(Yes, I do listen to MSNBC in the evening, but rarely sit down for any of it)

great line tonight about "facts are the center" when refuting the newscasting being addressed as liberal

(22,380 posts)I said to myself: Damn, Jane, what are you doing here.
Close-up please.
I need to make sure.
Then, when she finally spoke, and OWNED the screen, the tiny bit of insecurity about her identity was demolished.
They brought her in like the diva she is. In a role of a woman whose behavior goes against her personal grain, plus one who is powerful and commanding.
I love it.
Good for Jane. Since in her divorce from Ted Turner she ended up with at least the acreage of a third of one of our 50 states, and she made brazillions on her own as well, she was there because she wants to be.

(60,010 posts)Very interesting. Her quest for inner growth is laudable, as is her honesty about all her plastic surgery. Gotta admit she looks fantastic for 70 plus...
I have a difficult time forgiving her for putting out those excerise tapes, implying that is the reason for her figure, when she now admits that she has taken uppers for decades.
Off to watch the episode now.....
Mira
(22,380 posts)she had little surgery, but I could be wrong.
I must say that my tape of Jane Fonda doing the salute to the sun, which to me is the most perfect all around Yoga routine, is something I look at and drool with envy and utter appreciation.
Are you saying that her exercises have nothing to do with her figure, and that is is attributable to taking uppers?
Surely not.

(45,319 posts)terms so harsh she made most of the room upset. She was at that time a major box office draw, and what she was saying was 'I am hitting an age where I will disappear as an actor for many years, and I am going to do something in my life rather than just let the biz tell me I am too old when I am still pretty young'.
Uppers might help keep one thin, they do not make one limber, nor tone the body. If popping pills alone lead to a figure like hers, we'd all be on speed and Jane would not bother to work out at all.

(856 posts)I agree it is fascinating that actual news events are part of the story line. Loved how Will exposed the Koch Brothers true agenda to the two young naive teabaggers. Looking forward to next week's episode

(26,449 posts)It is by far my favorite right now. I kind of like how the senior producer character is being teased by fate.

(46,436 posts)I'm still not sure how I feel about this show. Granted, it's an important topic, but I think it's over-acted. Just my opinion.

(4,887 posts)I was going to tape it and screwed it up.
I saw 2 then 1 then I'll look at 3 tonite.
I DO like the snappy dialog that Sorkin had on the WW.
It really does remind me of that show.
I like it too

(72,790 posts)I have watched all 3 episodes and I think the third one was the best so far. I like how they started the story in 2010. Can't wait to see where they go with the story. Great TV!
