2. It is very rare for someone to be prosecuted for perjury during a deposition.

False deposition testimony is usually dealt with at trial through cross-examination. But Trump's cases have seldom gone to trial because he just grinds his opposition down until they settle or give up. So he's never had to face any consequences for lying under oath. A lie under oath means no more to him than any of the other lies he tells every time he opens his mouth.
