NJ Student's Artwork Removed From Show.....

probably for being too realistic. Now that's some fine work from Mr. Shea. I'd say young Liam has a bright future ahead of him.

N.J. school removes painting of porcine President Trump grabbing cat

A Morristown High School student's controversial art project featuring a porcine version of President Donald Trump holding an agitated cat has been removed from the school's annual Art & Design Show amidst complaints.

Liam Shea's other work -- a painting of Trump on a missile taking a selfie -- was also removed, according to a report by MorristownGreen.com. The theme for the show was "America Takes a Selfie."

Shea's mother, Kelly Zeiss Shea, said in a Facebook post she's "overwhelmed" by the support her son's art has received, and posted a copy of the former painting online "because it deserves to be seen."

"Art is meant to provoke. This certainly did just that," she said. "I have always been immensely proud of both my children. This is just one more reason why."

I just need to add that I love the mom's response-Just one more reason for her to be immensely proud of her kids! Now that's some good parenting.

I've seen a hell of a lot more 'controversial' stuff drawn by cartoonists. Mr. Fish, for example. This is well drawn and should not be removed.

We used to live in N.E. PA and my husband is in the electrician's union; his local merged with the local out of Parsippany, NJ, so he often got called to jobs in NJ. Did not like driving Routes 78 or 80. At one time or other, he worked at all those places when they were being built and I recall that the Merck job lasted a year? longer? He still mentions it now and again.

No anger, no defensiveness, supportive of the school's right to make the decision they did. I love that Liam's art has received much more exposure than if it had been accepted into the show.

Teen's Trump T-shirt censored in yearbook photo

WALL, N.J. — Grant Berardo couldn't vote for Donald Trump last year, but the Wall Township High School junior certainly could wear a T-shirt with his name on it.

Or so he thought.

With his parents' permission, Grant took his school pictures wearing a navy blue Trump campaign shirt emblazoned with the slogan "Make America Great Again."

But when Grant, 17, flipped to the yearbook page with his picture, he was shocked: Instead of the campaign shirt he wore that day, he was shown in a nondescript black T-shirt.

“It was Photoshopped” to remove the Trump message, Grant said.
