Follow Up to the Excellent Thread by Pacifist Patriot - re Comey Treatment and Treatment of Women

There is an important connection being made between the way former FBI director Comey has been treated by Trump and by some senators on the Senate Intelligence Committee, and the way women are treated by men in the workplace and in court proceedings in which they are claiming sexual assault and/or sexual harassment. First there is the eye opening DU thread begun by Pacifist Patriot https://www.democraticunderground.com/10029184308 ) in which she announces that the stories about the way Comey has been treated by Trump and his administration and by some of the senators on the Intelligence committee have led her to state that she's not going to take it (treatment of her by men in the society) anymore. Then there are Op Ed pieces by (1) Nicole Serratore ("James Comey and the Predator in Chief" -- https://www.nytimes.com/2017/06/08/opinion/james-comey-and-the-predator-in-chief.html?_r=0 ) and (2) Christine Emba ("Mr. Comey, What Were You Wearing That Night?" --https://www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/mr-comey-what-were-you-wearing-that-night/2017/06/09/9b635934-4d47-11e7-9669-250d0b15f83b_story.html?utm_term=.fc7a82ab96e4). All three of these pieces illuminate a very important set of issues, that men (I among them) should pay careful attention to.

It would be foolhardy for me (as a man) to attempt here to summarize what these three pieces have to say, if for no other reason than that I would probably miss important nuances in the arguments that these three writers are making. I urge you to read these articles yourself.

pretext, last minute change of plan, isolation, threats, intimidation, bullying, grooming, compliments. Trump's victims thought they were dealing with an honorable man. It's very hard to react to those circumstances when they suddenly occur. Comey was another one of his victims. Trump has honed his predatory behavior all his life and is an expert - he is a serial molester. He had no honorable intentions. Many women have experienced this, including myself.
