3. It took us years to get the last two horse slaughterhouses closed in the U.S.

Horrible, horrible places, with horses crammed into trucks, stallions, mares, foals all together like sardines. Some arrived with broken legs or worse. Now they just ship them to Canada or Mexico for processing to Europe.

The winning argument was that horses are not raised for meat, like cattle or swine. They are considered companion animals....like pets.
