(25,902 posts)retiring, barring unforeseen changes.
He's only 68, was first elected to the Senate in 2008, re-elected in 2014, and will surely run again in 2020. He looks more than a decade younger than his actual age. He's not much of a powerhouse in the Senate, but a decent, steady guy.
I worked on his campaign in 2008 and have met him several times, and I'm constantly impressed that he remembers my name and who I am.

(8,617 posts)will be 78 years old? Lujan Grisham will complete her final term as NM Governor?

(25,902 posts)But that's nearly a decade down the road, and Lujan Grisham has not yet been elected Governor. It's not a good idea to get too far ahead of ourselves.
Plus, she's all of ten years younger than Udall. I rather doubt that at age 68 she'll run for the Senate, especially if she has had two terms as Governor.
