I know people here like to knock Brian Williams, but he deserves credit for something he just said.

He took time to point out that Nicaragua opposes the Paris Climate Agreement because they don't believe it goes far enough.

So the only countries that are fully opposed to it are Syria, a country in the middle of a civil war, and the United States.

It places Donald Trump in his own category, with just him and Bashar Al-Assad.

In fact Ana Navarro's tweet about pressure being applied to Nicaragua, so they don't suffer the embarrassment of being associated with Trump, will get airplay hopefully.

But his "beautiful missiles" line helps chickenhawks, and could get us into a war. Before I applaud him I want an apology for that line.

I think he's on our side, though. Just gets caught up in the moment and waxes poetic. Tweety has that same sort of penchant for the drama.

For stating the obvious but he does deserve to be critiqued. He lied which damages trust and credibility. It was insulting and disrespectful to those who serve. So excuse me for not being excited about anything he says.

I like Brian Williams, imperfect as he is.

He's a pro, and though he has his own show at 11pm, MSNBC also uses him when something out of the ordinary comes up. He makes it look easy to go into the studio during breaking news, or a crisis and with no preparation, smoothly facilitate all that needs presenting.

In your clip, right off the bat you could tell Hewitt was full of himself - ready with his GOP talking points. Brian shut him down quickly. I was pleasantly surprised because Brian, the gentleman, rarely interrupts. Like I said above, he sounded almost angry, or perturbed. I know that's how I felt, & was happy Hewitt got shot down. Why they have him on is beyond me. I welcome opposing views, but not if they're intellectually dishonest as is Hewitt.

But then, except for a handful, intellectual dishonesty is par for the course in Republicanland.

That is a sad statement about where journalism is in this country.

Nicaragua had not signed because they thought it wasn't strict enough. It's "basic reporting" that either most DUers didn't know, or thought that everyone remembered from a year or two ago (which I don't think is true).

Every news story that mentioned Syria and Nicaragua not signing should have mentioned the reasons they gave for not signing. This is basic reporting, and it's now so rare, when some talking head manages to report an actual fact or two we all rush to praise them.

I hadn't heard the reason for Nicaragua's non-participation in the Paris Accords. Our good friends in Nicaragua could take this opportunity to kick President Trump in his tiny junk by signing on to the Accords, leaving Trump to stand alone with his good friend President Assad of Syria in opposing them.

Lighten up. Ok, Williams is no Rachel or Joy. He is a bit too home-spun cutesy. He's got enough baggage for his own baggage car. BUT he's been asking about what's the deal with Trump and Russia since the election. It's good television and I watch most nights. Don't let perfect be the enemy of the good.
