At the very end of his show tonight Lawrence announced that he will be on MSNBC at 10pm next week and for the next two years.
I am delighted!

Too, meaning "also", as in "I do TOO."
Two, as in the number 2.
I know that homophones can be difficult, but this is grade school stuff.
Sorry.

(10,500 posts)I am probably the worst person on DU about pointing out misplaced homonyms. I don't know how I missed that one. I guess it was late and I was tired.
But, longship, I am usually a little more gentle about it. I write something like this:
"You make some excellent points in your post. Unfortunately, I am not a normal human being. I cannot help but point out that you misplaced a homonym."
Here are a couple of examples:

(10,500 posts)And it is poetic for someone to have identified a misplaced homonym of my own.
A little bit of covfefe thrown my way is good for keeping my ego in check.

(19,204 posts)and satisfied that peoples' efforts to keep him there were successful. At least I HOPE our emails, letters and calls had some influence on MSNBC's decision. Now, for the next two years, at least, my ten P.M. slot is filled with solid, hard hitting journalism. DAMN STRAIGHT!

(54,434 posts)I for the distinct impression they wanted him out, and only the mass outpouring for support for O'Donnell alone with the threats, implied or explicit, to boycott the station (and, with it, their flagship, Rachel's show) convinced them to keep O'Donnell on.
At least that's what it looked like from over here. Whatever--all's well that ends well, and O'Donnell staying on with his show uninterrupted is a happy ending indeed.

(15,289 posts)that all the talk about O'Donnell's contract not being renewed came from O'Donnell's agent or talent agency? I doubt there was a serious chance of his contract not being renewed given the ratings, but maybe his talent agency was just making sure there was some publicity the current contract was up or that NBC/Comcast was dragging its feet coming to the negotiating table.

(34,466 posts)That your scenario was the reality. In the first place, they had the ratings data, so he had a strong bargaining position. Who needs anecdotes if they believed their data? In the second place, why wait until 3 days before the contract expiration to announce the new contract? Yes, it might generate some viewer interest, but also could have alienated other viewers--and advertisers, who purchase time in advance and wouldn't know what they were buying?

(24,710 posts)could you have just imagine the revenue your conglomerate would have lost. Your Greta Van Susteren hasn't done anything, your Megyn Kelly hasn't done anything.
ODonnell was the #2 rated show for the entire month. Maddow is #1 (cleaning the pathological liar, Hannity and his pathological fake news hour clock) and Hayes #3
And the only reason why you (Lack) brought them on Kelly and Susteren, was because they don't push back on questions to the right wingers they bring on, you know like challenge the right wingers, and the plus the simple fact, lets say the turtle or the Eddie where to come on his show (or for that matter Hayes and Maddow) they would be asked some pointed questions, that the right wing followers may not like.
This is really nice to hear that we get FACTS instead of blather. Now lets see if the Hannity comedy death spiral show will get the advertisers to pull there commercial on the three top rated cable shows---------------------not happening.
Hannity is it true you the next on the treasonous ( you support the bundy clan) is going to be fired, for your alleged sexual misconduct -------------------------good riddance , don't let the proverbial door hit you in your pathological lying ass.........
