(12,157 posts)the Buffoon in Chief laying a wreath. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII as an infantry man and again in the Vietnam era as a green beret doing who knows what. No leaks with special forces people. The guy formerly from Delta Force 6 who claimed he killed bin Ladin has be ostracized by the whole cadre of special force members, current and former.
His last vote was for Kennedy.
He died in 2000.
Sorry pop.

(99,711 posts)My dad was a WW ll vet who died when I was 14. If having Chump is the price of having him I'd have Chump plus my humble old man, he of the 9th grade education, would have loathed that pompous cretin.

(17,473 posts)My father passed away in 2010 at the age of 95. He never talked about his service in WWII until he was dying. He was the senior NCO on trains carrying troops from ports to hospitals inland. These inland facilities were mental hospitals. He talked of these shattered men, that they were ordered to sedate and straight jacket. In some ways these stories upset me more than my father's passing. I don't think he ever got over his service.
When he left the service he dissolved his dog tags in acid.
One of his biggest regrets was that my mother didn't get to see Obama in office. My mother was a member of the NAACP in the late 50s, the only white in town to join, but I digress.
My dad despised Bush (the shrub as he called him), I can't imagine his reaction to tRump.

(28,270 posts)I too am glad they didn't live to see our own government selling out to the same philosophy they thought they defeated for good in WW2.

(2,050 posts)I'm thankful that my Father didn't have to see this abomination destroy everything he fought for and loved with a passion, his Country, his Flag and his ideals.
I still have the last flag he flew outside his house, it was taken down on the day he died and has been put away in a display next to the one given him at his funeral.
My most important possessions besides my memories of him.
