Yes, they were fools. It's not like there wasn't plenty of evidence that Trump was a liar, a cheater, a vulgarian, a con artist. His flaws were not a hidden secret. But I guess it's best and kind to not rub their noses in his slimey filth too much.

Trumpsters are tribal people. They easily follow and go along with whatever is the concensus of the pack of good ol' boys that they run with. Uneducated, fearful, and rigid in their belief systems. They do not have the courage of their own convictions, because frankly their "convictions" are of the just add water and stir sort that is sold to them by the racist hate-baters and fear-mongers of Fox News et al.

It will take quite a few Trumpsters to come forward and sheepishly admit to having been hood-winked by the Con in Chief. But once more and more of them come forward, it will become more and more OK to admit that Trump is a POS. So let's simply concur that Trump betrayed their best ideals without snickering too much about their so-called ideals.
