I ran into a guy, at Starbucks, who is a little odd, but once seemed to have deductive reasoning skills.
Well, after about a year of not seeing him, he approaches me. And this is what he says:
"It looks like congress is going to force out Trump and Pence, replacing them with Hillary and Bernie?"
Once hearing this, I realized the guy is a lost case, and kept it brief, not going into the chain of succession, the fact that it's a Republican House and Senate, or the other things that flooded my mind. I just told him that it would not happen because Paul Ryan would be the next in line. I also stated that whoever told him that were idiots who make things up.
To that, he retorts, "Yeah, we're not a parliamentary system of government."
I turned from him and ignored his woefully ignorant ass and went about my business.
Like a cult member, he is lost until he can be freed of his control agents.

(25,895 posts)Bernie was Hillary's VP pick. Sort of sweet, but rather ignorant of him.

(37,161 posts)He knows the names from the primaries, and just assumed it would be automatic.
I mean, a guy who doesn't understand the process enough to know the presidential chain of succession won't allow for what he thinks "it looks like" isn't likely to be up to speed that there's a process for choosing VP either.
