The revelation comes as the investigation also appears to be entering a more overtly active phase, with investigators shifting from work that has remained largely hidden from the public to conducting interviews and using a grand jury to issue subpoenas. The intensity of the probe is expected to accelerate in the coming weeks, the people said.

(7,817 posts)I'm sure these outlets are well aware that there could be fake 'rather' stories and documents released...they have to be super careful...many, many ways to make legitimate stories and investigations go away.

(4,407 posts)The hacks, leaks, contacts and disinformation campaign was probably aided by internet presences such as Breitbart. I had someone who ran pro-Trump FaceBook pages tell me he was getting paid by someone (he claimed it was the "Trump TV" people), including for his member lists.

(15,290 posts)perhaps involved in the cover up. In his briefings, Rosenstein refused to tell Congress who directed him to write the memo "justifying" firing Comey. He reportedly said he couldn't answer because that info was now under Mueller's purview. We know Pence was part of the group that met with Trump when the decision to fire Comey was made.
