I think he's trying to leave behind this huge family dynasty. All that he will leave behind is memories of a greedy traitorous crook that had spoiled, entitled offspring.
He wants to erase all the good that President Obama did. That is what his main objective has been- tearing down. When that pestilence leaves the white house there will be no good to erase. We'll just need lots of anti bacterial and febreeze for the White House and air it out a long time & of course the mattresses will have to be burned. Other than that he won't be missed.

(115,819 posts)of his awesomeness. It's proof (to him) that he's better than everybody else. Narcissists like him need constant reinforcement of their own worth, and money is "proof" to the world of his greatness. His tasteless gold-plated apartment in Manhattan looks like Versailles as redecorated by Saddam Hussein's pimp; all that gold is there as a display of wealth. He's the worst sort of nouveau-riche (old money doesn't flash it around). He doesn't need more money. He's a black hole of narcissistic need who endlessly craves more proof of his value.

(38,325 posts)He's an incurious creature who has never had any interests beyond himself. He treats his own family as a mere extension of himself.
There are many selfish billionaires, but most of them have outside interests and some curiosity about the world.
For example, Larry Ellison. He is not a nice man, but he loves sailing.
Bill Gates is a business shark but once he rose to the top, he looked around and thought about what he might do to make the world a better place. (I don't agree with many of Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation education initiatives, but their health initiatives seem largely sound.)
Have we ever seen a Trump interview where he's not talking about himself? It's become shockingly evident that whenever his Presidential duties demand he step outside the roll of Trump, his words are gibberish.

(5,529 posts)It's a scorecard.
People like him don't stop earning when they have enough because it isn't about the money.
It is about proving your self worth in the only currency he understands.
There are some daddy issues in there as well.
