On Meet the Press Lindsay Graham doesn't seem to be supporting the president much

He started the interview with "I don't know why I agreed to do this " with a nervous smile. He wants the FBI to be lead by someone already in the FBI. He wants more investigations. He said the Russians messed with the election but he thinks Russia didn't change the outcomes of the election. He says he doesn't believe trump colluded. He also said trump should give us his tax returns.

A new poll says 78% want an independent commission or prosecutor for the Russia collusion.

Chuck Todd did a good job in the interview. I think the repubs are freaking out.

What a crock of shit. Wimpy Lindsay went on to say that the Republican's treatment of Obama never reached the harshness to which Democrats are putting Trump under.

I've had it with this jellyfish.

And if we're lucky, he'll give Trump a stern talking to - not to his face, of course, but passive aggressively through his media appearances.

And then he'll do exactly nothing about any of it.

Trump's New Impeachable Offenses: Obstruction of Justice, Conspiracy, Abuse of Power

I especially enjoyed the Saturday Night Massacre, so nice of Taylor and Mensch to have notably historical timing. Plus, it impacts all the Sunday shows.
No doubt, the White House had a heads up, all their people "are unavailable" this Sunday and the WH isn't answering the phones.

and what really struck me as a key point is Graham saying the new FBI leader should come from within the ranks and know the job on day 1.......... that's a warning that putting in a billionaire donor with no clue (devos) or a family member with no clue (kushner) or someone's wife with no clue (mconnell) to be the president's puppet and shut down the russia probe is NOT going to happen.

So that is good news at least.........

19. Many Republicans want to end Russian "meddling"
Sun May 14, 2017, 11:19 AM
May 2017

but they have 2 supposedly non-negotiable positions and one attempt to position the party. as a good citizen

1. Russian "meddling" occurred but it did not change the outcome of the election. Trump won fair and square so claims that Clinton is really the legitimate president are false and the Republican agenda should be passed and Trump Supreme Court appointments are legitimate

2. Trump himself is not guilty of collusion. He was an innocent bystander and there is no reason for serious investigations or independent prosecutor.

3. The Republican Party is composed of "good citizens" and we think Trump should voluntarily release his tax returns too (but that is up to him).

The Republican 3 main concerns are:

1. Protecting their party members from being implicated and in order to do this they need to protect Trump for as long as they can.

2. Protecting their "brand" and reputation or survival of the Republican Party

3. Getting tax cut for billionaires passed to please donors and dark money providers.

They are already distancing themselves from him.

He had 2 basic messages he kept repeating

The Russia interference didn't change the outcome of the election

A special prosecutor is not needed at this time
