Anybody know how you get around a special prosecutor statute having to be signed...

by the sitting president?

And one other question, would a Congressional select committee have subpoena power?

Both questions are probably moot because a select committee creation and a special prosecutor bill would have to originate with the repugs in charge of the House and Senate and the chance of that happening is just about nil.

Just hoping there is a way to complete the Russian collusion investigation that trump is deserate to stop.

Attorney General can appoint a special prosecutor and is supposed whenever Exec branch investigates itself. Since Sessions recued himself this would fall to Deputy AG who may be pissed enough at being played that he could actually do it. Hopefully he is not compromis d too
Congress can appoint a special commission which would have subpoena power but not be able to prosecute.
Congressional special committees are not laws and are not signed nlby President . They are extensions of Congress' constitutional duty to oversee the executive.

A select committee would at least have subpoena power which could totally expose trump but the chances of Ryan and/or McConnell okaying one is extremely remote.

Guess it has to go before court of public opinion.

Guess we all have to be willing to get out there and protest.

Let's go.

can claim "executive privilege" in many cases to refuse a subpoena (the Supreme Court found that Nixon did
have to turn over the tapes though).

if he was played, as many think, one would think that the President and Boss Elf's actions would be the circumstances to do so....but I don't really know what the DOJ requires to trigger a special prosecutor.

if he is another Trump lackey, good luck getting him to do it, even if there are grounds to trigger it.
