It's unfortunate that in their gusto to smear and discredit one of the loudest and most popular progressives voices in the US they gave a Republican another election... well done.

had we left a local race local, none of it would have happened.

(42,862 posts)... states like West Virginia. I'd rather WIN with an imperfect Manchin than to have ANY Republican in office. I'll never truly understand the mentality of people who would rather LOSE to the Republican, because they felt it was more important to "make a personal statement". Why would they prefer that instead of having someone who actually caucuses with the Democrats? Because it's pure ego talking, that's why! It's a step backward, and people who advocate such a strategy often seem quite proud of themselves for it. It's definitely not a recipe to find any success or "progress" that benefits our nation or our party. Their pride and ego and vanity are luxuries that the most vulnerable among us cannot afford to indulge in. Sad and stupid.

they ask for more and more party purity, then go support an antichoice candidate, who fails. at which point they blame tom perez.

(53,866 posts)instead of letting a local election remain local
same people who cried that we need more and more ideologically pure democrats and more progressive candidates.
