Well this ruined my whole day, saw it on Alternet, sorry if it's a repeat post...
Most Americans dont like Trump.
Trump will most likely be reelected in 2020.
How can both of these statements be true? Heres how:
Even when people are unhappy with a state of affairs, they are usually disinclined to change it. In my area of research, the cognitive and behavioral sciences, this is known as the default effect.

(28,876 posts)I don't think any research on past tendencies applies to Trump.
Never has there been a more disastrous administration and it has been less than 4 months.

(4,673 posts)is fair, then he doesn't win, because I can't imagine anyone we put up having greater negatives than he will have.
But - this is a man obsessed not with governing, but with elections. He is already preparing for it, ready to accept Russian help, and the help of further voter restrictions, purges, etc.
I'm very afraid he will steal the election. Again.

(396 posts)which is why he won in 2016. Trump would've lost had 1.6+ million votes not been thrown out. Greg Palast has been talking about it for months now and so many still haven't heard of his research into the Cross Check system. That means the last 2 Republican Presidents were fraudulent, completely fraudulent. Bush won in 2000 because black votes were thrown out in Florida which would've made him lose. Now you have Trump in 2016. There's a concerted effort to implement what Palast calls "Jim Crow voting." This is why we don't need to appeal to Trump voters. It's a complete and total lie and the silence from ranking Dems on this is mind-boggling. If the votes are all counted like they should be, we'd win.

(10,528 posts)they know they'll get the same crappy food a chain restaurant instead of possibly worse food at another place, many eat at McDonalds by default and will vote for the incumbent by default, negative tRUmp coattails won't be enough in 2018, they need to have a good message
