One of the most bizarre things with Trump as president? His public proclamations of vengeance.

Has anyone noticed this? They read straight from the book of an autocratic dictatorship.

When he fired Sally Yates, he released a statement that contained this:

"The acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, has betrayed the Department of Justice by refusing to enforce a legal order designed to protect the citizens of the United States. This order was approved as to form and legality by the Department of Justice Office of Legal Counsel.

Ms. Yates is an Obama Administration appointee who is weak on borders and very weak on illegal immigration."

Then, in his response to the Syrian gas attack on civilians, by Bashar al Assad, he released a statement that seemed far more concerned with someone other than the man who had just gassed his own people:

"These heinous actions by the Bashar al-Assad regime are a consequence of the past administration’s weakness and irresolution. President Obama said in 2012 that he would establish a “red line” against the use of chemical weapons and then did nothing."

Finally, he attempts to use the public letter firing James Comey as a means to frame a blatantly false narrative to his benefit:

"While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nevertheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the Bureau."

Of course, the thinking in Trump's beautiful little mind is that if the investigation does swallow him up, Comey gets painted as a liar who went back on his word to Trump. There was no real "appreciation" in this line whatsoever. It was a desperate attempt at spin against a raging, inevitable storm.

But can we remember any US President who ever issued these public proclamations that were so hell bent on humiliation and shame and vengeance before? I don't think we ever have.

Instead, he's ridiculed and the world is laughing.
Sad, that our President is such a joke.
He's really quite pathetic.
