I swap a 3 Terabyte disk drive with it's cousin in the safe deposit box about once every six weeks to two months.
It goes into the machine and backs up all the other drives.
Digital is forever if it is actively archived. The days of putting mom & dad's wedding photos in a box in the basement is long gone.

(146,317 posts)Neither organization is trustworthy. I don't recommend sending such data anywhere. My suggestion is that it be retained until needed. Then, a decision can be made about where the information should be sent.
I would not give Assange or Greenwald the sweat off my nether regions.
