May 6, 2017 By Taegan Goddard
Shattered, by the journalists Jonathan Allen and Amie Parnes, has been optioned by TriStar Television, a division of Sony Pictures Television, and Davis Entertainment for a limited series, the New York Times reports.
Among the first post-mortems of the election, Shattered has been a mainstay in dinner-party chatter in political circles since its publication. The continued interest in the election has brought talk of other book-to-TV series as well. The political journalists and analysts Mark Halperin and John Heilemann are currently working on a book about the 2016 election that has also been acquired for a mini-series by HBO.

(90,769 posts)...it looks as though the media is going to stomp Hillary to death, burn her at the stake, scatter her ashes, and salt the ground.
Who are the viewers gonna believe: the infotainment media or their lying eyes?
Freedumb for Murkins.

(53,041 posts)Their victory in seeing millions thrown off healthcare and thereby given death sentences isn't enough. They worked had to deliver the country to fascism. They aren't going to stop now when they are just starting to see their efforts pay off.

(59,504 posts)It is way too painful and it is a campaign seen through the lens of it having failed. I assume that the book would have been quite different had the Midwest had about 1 or 2 % more votes for HRC. We lived the campaign and, more deeply, the absolutely devastating loss. Seeing it on TV fictionalized (by choosing what to include and what to omit) is not something I can imagine would be enjoyable.
The right would rather believe that Trump won because he was an amazing, incredible candidate - in his type of language - "the best ever" and that he had the biggest victory ever seen (even as it wasn't). An account that is essentially that this was her race to lose and she lost it -- will not interest them.
How many here would watch it?

(10,500 posts)getting abused. This is exactly what people want to see.
That's why the writers of Shattered wrote their dishonest book to begin with.

generating billions in profit. Even their victory in destroying her political prospects and delivering the country to fascism isn't enough to satisfy the vultures. Fuck all of them and the evil they inflected on America.
