Republican Kabuki health-care theater
Japanese Kabuki Theater is a form of art where men dress up as women to dramatize comedy or drama. All that was missing yesterday were the woman's costumes.
The House Republicans put on a play. They knew it had no meaning. They knew that whatever it was they were making believe they were doing would be demolished by Republicans in the Senate. Some of them probably even knew they were making fools of themselves.
It's not that Republican Senators are brave creatures. They just want to get reelected. And in most states in which Republicans are Senators, the idea of taking away health care from millions of people doesn't play well.
So health care will remain intact while so many Republican House members, dressed in their Kabuki costumes, did their dances and played their assigned roles.
And make no mistake about it. Many of them are fools, trying to make believe they believe in the propaganda their party has been peddling for years. And the rest of them are total pricks who really believe in the shit their party has been peddling for years.
There really is a difference between a costumed performer, and an elected politician who consistently votes to fuck you. Unfortunately far too many American voters don't understand this.
