he was willing to incur the wrath of the Dems by revealing what he learned - but he was unwilling to incur the wrath of the Repugs if he concealed what he learned if that information in fact would have come out at a later date.

Think about that. If he would have kept silent and the Repugs would have learned at a later date that he had info that he didn't disclose - think about how the Repugs would have reacted if the shoe were on the other foot.

I'm thinking he weighed the consequences and he chose to take the easy way out.

as "proof" of FBI political favoritism

Which would have been used to discredit FBI original determination that no crimes were committed....

Which would have been used to call for immediate initiation of Impeachment proceedings

Which would have been backed by the majority of the members of both the house & senate...

And would have destroyed her presidency regardless of whether or not impeachment resulted..

And would have effectively given the KGOP 4 years to recruit & groom all manner of complicit players under the cover of press obsession with the drama of a presidential impeachment scandal .....

And give the KGOP the keys to the kingdom for the next 20+ years

And as an added bonus... The probability of ever electing another female president would be zero.


Bottom line...
hillary & the vast majority of the US population would have gotten fucked no matter what ...

At this point, it makes no difference who fucked us hardest or first or last or the most times...

What does matter is whether or not we can
1. accept that we have been fucked...
2. have the will power to shift our role from that of the victim to that of the survivor....

the most detrimental to Clinton. To say that he only had two choices assumes we are all naive and incapable of critical thinking. When Comey stepped outside his official public position as the Director of the FBl to publicly scold her, it became clear that he had a personal vendetta against Clinton and that authoritarian tirade exceeded any pretense that he was acting professionally or in the best interest of the nation.
