7. Speculation about Farage and Assange

Louise Mensch, making it clear that she has no information other than reading Claude Taylor's tweets, speculated that maybe the intercepted call was between Trump and Nigel Farage, and Farage then went to broker a deal with Assange. Although Trump and Farage had recently met in person, so I'm not sure why there might have been a phone call to be intercepted. Maybe it was before the in-person meeting.

From a Guardian story at the time of the Farage-Assange visit:

"On 24 February, [Farage] told the crowd: “Our real friends in the world speak English.” The next evening he had dinner with Trump at the Washington Trump hotel and tweeted a photo of him with 'the Donald' in the early hours of the morning.
